As our Women of Strength movement grows; our brand has connected with remarkable women with remarkable stories. Today, we are sharing Megan's story. Megan is a survivor, a fighter, and one of those ladies with a special gift to motivate and empower other women. Take a moment to read her story, to learn about her and how balances her life as a mother, wife, and entrepreneur. Thank you Megan for sharing your story with us! 



My name is Megan Hall I am the founder of Megan Hall Motivation. I was born and raised most of my life in Upstate NY about an hour from Canada. During my time living in NY I overcame many obstacles including abuse, homeless, and life as a single mom of two girls. In 2010 I met my wonderful husband Jeremy, who serves as a sailor in the US Navy. Not long after we married and I moved to Virginia with my daughter we found out we were expecting twins. Life as a mom of four kids has had it's challenges. My children are Carmelle 13, Lillian 7, Audrina 5, and Cameron. 5. The last few years I have been a fitness coach helping other women change their lives through fitness and nutrition. Earlier this year I expanded my offerings. Now I help female entrepreneurs and business owners create a happy, healthy, thriving life through my healthy mindset coaching and speaking. I volunteer in my local community by mentoring with Compass which is a organization of spouses mentoring spouses who's spouses serve in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. I enjoy building relationships, a glass of wine, and a good book.

#1. You are a life & fitness coach. Can you share with us what made you take this path of entrepreneurship? I decided to become a healthy mindset coach because as a fitness coach I was seeing a gap in where I could help women. As a fitness coach I was passionate about creating a healthy lifestyle but couldn't seem to really get my clients to connect with that. The disconnect was just focusing on fitness and nutrition vs the whole body. Health is truly a total body transformation... physical, mental, and emotional. Without one piece we have a difficult time creating a happy, healthy, thriving life. Next I knew Megan Hall Motivation was born. I really want to be able to help women with the total body transformation not just one piece.

#2. You were homeless, depression and abuse at some point in your life. How did that define who you are today?

It helped me learn that there is hope. I am able to connect with women on a level most other people can't. I went from having nothing at all and a crummy mindset to thriving. All of those things made me who I am today without those experiences I would not have the strength I have now. not only to help myself but others as well. They were also a spotlight for how important taking care of yourself inside and out really is.

#3. Do you think women should make self-care a priority? Why? Yes. You can't pour from an empty cup. We often think that putting ourselves first is selfish but it's really the opposite. When we take care of ourselves we are better able to take of those we care about. If we feel awful we eventually take it out on those around us. Focusing not only on our physical health, but our mental and emotional as well is crucial. When we take care of ourselves everything else seems to fall into place. We are more capable of handling adversity but we are also more capable of experiencing real joy.


#4. Tell us about two of the most defining moments in your life.

The first defining moment was when I left my middle daughters father three weeks before our wedding. It was a very toxic relationship that involved a lot of abuse. He was struggling with addiction problems and I couldn't seem to get away. The day I left him he shot a gun off in the house. My daughter ran over from the neighbors and said "I thought he shot you mommy." She was 7. It was eye opening at how bad things had gotten.

The second defining moment was when I decided to see a counselor. At the time I had been focusing on my physical health but not my mental and emotional health. I found myself crying in my shower wanting to end my life. There was no reason for me to feel that way, I had a wonderful family and life. My mental health needed some real work. I learned there is nothing wrong with talking to someone. It means you care about yourself enough to seek help.
